Kristin and Ken’s wedding at The Palm Event Center in Pleasanton

Here to cure your workday blues, I present you with the highlights from this weekend’s glorious event! This is what happens when you get a loving couple of 9 years together with all their friends and family, added with a splash of fushia and a lot of glitz!

Kristin has a guilty pleasure of all things pink and sparkly, so the little details were riddled with her special touch.

The bridesmaids had matching toenails, glittery necklaces, and rings (which were in fact custom made!).

Check out the excitement Kristin had in her eyes when her bouquet arrived from H & L Flowers!

The event was held at the Palm Even Center in the Vineyard which is one of my favorite wedding venues to shoot in. The ambient light was delightful and the grounds are sublime with the rolling hills in the distance. I took Kristin and Ken around the building and gardens to take their portraits.

At the ceremony, the bridal party walked in to this heartwarming and tear jerking string arrangement of Don’t Want To Miss A Thing – Aerosmith by the Vitamin String Quartet. This was followed by Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton, also arranged by the Vitamin String Quartet. It certainly drew a tear to our eyes, but maybe that’s just our sentimental side coming out. You decide by checking out the following links:

The whole bridal party was truly an effervescent bunch and were a joy to photograph!

The bridal party entered the reception to Black Eyed Peas – Time Of Your Life.  Each couple added their own zesty touch to their entrance!

Throughout the speeches, there was a lot of laughter, but many tears were also shed.

The groom gave each of his groomsmen a box of cigars.  Later in the evening we had this idea to have the guys chilling outside with their cigars and captured this amazing shot!

One of the bride’s friends hand made toffee which were the favors for each of the guests. (Which of course featured the glorious fusha color on the ribbon of the box!)

I had a lot of fun chatting to the DJ, Norman from Ultimate Sounds, throughout the evening. He was not only extremely professional, but also conducted some fun games during the evening! He encouraged one person from each table to hold up a dollar and stand up.  Then they were instructed to dance around and around the table. They then passed the dollar to the person they stopped at, who also danced around the table! Once the music stopped again, the person who ended up with the dollar bill got to keep it but the original dollar bearer was the winner of the gorgeous table center piece!

Norman turned up the music and the party kicked into action!

Kristin and Ken are an incredibly kind, fun and loving couple.  It was a joy to shoot their wedding! Also at the wedding were their friends Ricky and Kelsey.  I had photographed their wedding on June 25th.  It was really nice to see them here.  My assistants Suzy and Sarah took this picture of me with the two newlywed couples.

If you have any questions please don''t hesitate to post them or send me an email. I'm always interested to hear what you think! Thanks for your support. Ten years ago, I left the mortgage and real estate business to pursue photography, which is a passion of mine. The mortgage business was excellent at that time but I was tired of it. I had a daughter that was just born and I wanted to do something that would allow me to spend more time with her and at the same time do what I wanted. I knew that I enjoyed people photography and soon discovered that I have a very real and special talent for it. I discovered that I was particularly good at capturing moments and revealing emotions through pictures. This came instinctively for me and allowed me to develop a style that was very comfortable for me to work in. My photography quickly became popular in the bay area and I've earned a large number of referral businesses as a result. In fact, i'd say I most of my business growth is the result of referrals from clients and online sites like Yelp. I currently have a studio in downtown San Jose and photograph weddings and portraits all over the bay area and California.

Fantastic job Charles! My parents were trying to tell me all about the wedding details but of course it wasn’t quite the same as seeing your gorgeous pictures. See you in November!
